Please note that the Labour Party will no longer pay salaries to the next National Chair, National Secretary and Campaigns and Membership Officer.

Please also note that the All Women Shortlist positions are open to self-defining women.

Please further note that the Liberation Officer positions will be elected separately, at Liberation Conference, and the following information does not apply to them.

Election Guidelines

All candidates must complete the Election Guidelines form and email it to sheri-ann_bhim@labour.org.uk by 5pm 11th February.

Nominations

Candidates for National Chair, National Secretary and Campaigns & Membership Officer must receive 10 affiliated Club nominations.

Candidates for Vice-Chair (Campaigns & Policy), Vice-Chair (Events & Communications),National Policy Forum Representative and International Officer must receive 5 affiliated Club nominations.

Candidates for Regional Coordinator positions must receive 2 nominations from affiliated Clubs in their region.

Candidates for Further Education Representative, Elections Committee and Policy Committee do not require any nominations. 

All candidates must submit their candidacy and any required nominations by completing the below form. 

Clubs may only nominate one candidate per position, and must submit their nominations by completing the below form

Both forms are required to validate nominations, and both must be emailed to sheri-ann_bhim@labour.org.uk by 5pm 11th February.

Manifestos

Candidates for all positions are invited to submit optional manifestos.

Manifestos for National Chair, National Secretary and Campaigns & Membership Officer may be up to 8 sides of A4.

Manifestos for Vice-Chair (Campaigns & Policy), Vice-Chair (Events & Communications), National Policy Forum Representative, International Officer and Further Education Representative may be up to 2 sides of A4.

Manifestos for Regional Coordinator positions, Elections Committee and Policy Committee may be up to 1 side of A4.

The deadline to email your optional manifesto to sheri-ann_bhim@labour.org.uk is 5pm 11th February.

Hustings

There will be an optional hustings event, open to all candidates, with the date and location to be confirmed. It will be broadcast live on Facebook.

Voting Periods

The election of the Further Education Representative, Elections Committee and Policy Committee will take place at National Conference on 24th February.


Each affiliated Labour Club is entitled to send up to four delegates to National Conference. If you are interested in being a delegate, please contact your Club Chair. All delegations must be gender balanced.

The election of National Chair, National Secretary, Campaigns & Membership Officer, Vice-Chair (Campaigns & Policy), Vice-Chair (Events& Communications), National Policy Forum Representative, International Officer and Regional Coordinators will take place via One, Member, One Vote (OMOV).

Voting will be online via the Electoral Reform Services, with ballots sent by email. Voting will open at 12pm 25th February and close at 12pm 7th March, with results announced soon after.
